Let me first start this blog by saying that my kids are not starting wild and crazy rumors....they are simply stating the wild and crazy truth. We are expecting another baby! We were all a little shell shocked at the news, probably myself and Jack more than any one else. And I've got to try and do justice to this story:
The night we shared the new news with the kids were at the dinner table and had just finished eating. Jack looked at me and said "should we tell them?" Well, how can you say that in front of three inquisitive kids and not expect to be bugged about the news in question? I think he was simply excited and wanted to share. So, he proceeds to tell the kids that we're having another.
SIMULTANEOUSLY THESE EVENTS OCCURRED:
Maddie cackling at the top of her lungs and telling the ceiling "we're not Catholic we don't have to do this!"
Sam with his hand on his forehead and leaning dramatically across the table "nooooooooooooo"
Ben asking "what? who is having a baby? who is?"
Jeremiah in his walker around the table babbling at the top of lungs "bla, blah, blu, bla, blah..."
I looked at Jack with tears down my face and he says in a very caring manner "what, did I say something?"
My reply? "You said I was pregnant!"
And that, my friends and family, is a moving snapshot of our family!
We've had a bit of time to adjust to the news and remember that God truly was not shell shocked, merely pleased....after all, we're full filling His command of being fruitful and multiplying! And we've had the privilege of remembering too, that His timing is not our own. I promise you having a baby was not penciled in my June 2009 calendar! But now it is written there ink! Perhaps I should go over in Sharpie. I just love Sharpies....they are permanent, unchanging, to the point, exact and colorful. Many of these words I could use to describe my God too. As belly begins to expand, my heart too expands with even more appreciation and love for my Father.

What a blessed baby this one will be to have God choose to place him/her in your family, in your hearts and in your arms. June can't come fast enough!
