...but I'm NOT old!

I actually went running yesterday. It's been almost one year since I laced up my sneakers and went for a jog. When I found out I was pregnant with Jeremiah, my doc suggested I lay off the running and instead just walk. I gladly listened to half of his advice and lay off of running and laid on the couch quite a bit - walking wasn't exciting to me! Now that Jeremiah is here, I've been (somewhat) anxious to get back on the right track of exercising, but the weather has been cold or my exercise clothes don't fit well, or even, I'll start tomorrow! Many tomorrows have become todays without a fast foot forward. I did 1/2 mile jog yesterday and thought my lungs were going to EXPLODE! I walked briskly the 1/2 mile back to the house and felt better when I got home. In fact, I told Jack that my body was responding great but my lungs wouldn't let me go further. Okay, so I wake up today and my body made me a big liar! Ouch! All over!! My body felt old and very abused. And I did it on purpose! I will say it was beautiful outside yesterday and the air was crisp, cool and fresh. I loved being back outside. I am again anxious to lace up the sneakers and hit the road. Gotta work out all the aches, cramps and sores and get on my way! If anything, I'm a tough old gal!!

My other "old" milestone....Maddie turned 13 years old yesterday! Double ouch! When my baby grew up into such a beautiful young lady I do not know, but it happened. She is such a great gal, great sense of humor with a fresh outlook on life. She's marvelous. I really look forward to watching her discover herself over the next few years. Happy Birthday sweet baby girl.
